SAKURA
FORECAST
IN JAPAN

In Japan, which has a long north-south axis, the cherry blossom blooming season differs from region to region. Every year, the Japan Meteorological Agency releases its forecast of when the cherry trees are expected to blossom across the country. This map shows when, on average, the blossoms will open in each region. Please be aware that actual dates may vary from year to year depending on weather conditions.

During the cherry blossom season, many foreign visitors come to Japan, which causes huge crowds and makes it difficult to make reservations for accommodations and transportations. To avoid crowds, we recommend that you use this map as a reference and try to shift the period and area of your trip.
