The main attraction of Adventure Travel in Japan is hiking throughout the country.
Moreover, hiking along “kodo” (old roads), which are 400-year-old traces of the Edo period, is a popular content for foreign travelers, as they can enjoy the natural scenery and historical architecture that are unique to Japan.
While hiking on these popular ancient paths, visitors can also experience the culture and cuisine of various regions of Japan.
This is a classic Japanese adventure travel course.

Tokaido Hiking

  • ・Discover a 400years old paved path in the lush, volcanic region of Hakone.
  • ・One of the few remaining Teahouses (Amazake Chaya) that once dotted the old Tokaido road.
  • ・​With a long history dating back from the 9th century, Mishima Taishais a popular power spot in Izu peninsula.

-Nakasendo Hiking

  • ・Going on a day trip to Tsumago and Magome-post towns that retain some buildings from around 400 years. You walk via Magome pass (790m).
  • ・Going on a half day trip to Yabuhara and Naraivia Torii pass (1,197m). Narai also retain some buildings from around 400 years. After finish your Nakasendo trip, you’ll enjoy there by local food and souvenir in the old town.

-Kumano kodo Hiking

Kumano kodo is an ancient network of roads – dating back more than 1000 years – running through the mountainous interior of Kii Peninsula.
These are pilgrim trails, connecting historic shrines and temples of deep spiritual significance.“Nakahechi” is the most popular route, and this highlight hiking course is a last 7.5 km of the “Nakahechi”route from the west into the great shrine of Kumano Hongu Taisha.
Kumano kodo is also famous as a pilgrimage sister road to Santiago de Compostela in Spain.

Arrival in Tokyo

Upon arrival at Haneda or Narita Airport, travelers will be transferred to a hotel in Tokyo on their own. After checking in at the

hotel, enjoy a meal in Tokyo.

TOKAIDO HIKING

Transfer from Tokyo to Hakone Yumoto station by public transfer.

-Tokaido Hiking (Hakone Hachiri)

Hakone Yumoto Staion – 45 min. on foot – Amazake Chaya – 70 min. on foot – Moto Hakone (View of Mt.Fuji, Lunch on own) – 40 min. on foot –Yamanaka Castle Ruins – transfer by private car – Mishima Taisha Shrine

NAKASENDO HIKING <1>

Transfer from Mishima to Magome by train & public bus.

-Nakasendo Hiking with English speaking guide.

Magome (Sightseeing & Local food) – 2 hours on foot –Tsumago (Sightseeing & Lunch on own) – 1 hour on foot – Nagiso station

Transfer from Nagiso station to Nakatsugawa station or Nagoya station by train.

KYOTO SIGHTSEEING

Full day Kyoto sightseeing by public transportation with English speaking guide.

-Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine Hiking.  

Fushimi Inari station – Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine – Top of Mt.Inari (270m)– Yotsutsuji –Fushimi Inari station (2-3 hours / 6 km)-Kinkakuji Temple, Sanjusangendo Temple-Maiko Show

Transfer for Kumano Kodo area

Take the train & bus to Kawayu Onsen, the base of the Kumano Kodo.

On this day, we will stay overnight in Kawayu Onsen or the surrounding area and enjoy Onsen!

Transfer from Kawayu Onsen to Hossinmon-oji by public bus with English speaking guide.

-Kumano Kodo Hiking

Hossinmon Oji – 3 hours on foot – Kumano Hongu Taisha -Kumano Taisha (Sightseeing & Picnic Lunch) & Oyunohara

Transfer to Kii-Katsuura by public bus.

Depart from Hotel, transfer from Katsuura to Daimonzaka by public bus with English speaking guide.

Transfer to Kii-Katsuura by bus.

Transfer from Kii-Katsuura to Osaka by train.
